As is common this early in a National Football League season, weather is not a factor today. There is a 50/50 chance of some rain in Tampa, where the Buccaneers host the Washington Commanders, but no weather conditions that would affect play on the field at any site.

It is the start of a season, hopes run high in cities where chances of actually competing next February in Super Bowl LIX are low. One of the teams many thought could be on the doorstep of a Super Bowl this season, the Green Bay Packers, had their hopes delivered a severe blow when starting quarterback Jordan Love was injured late in the Packers loss in Brazil to the Philadelphia Eagles. He is likely going to miss at least four weeks of action.

With Love out, Green Bay is left with backups to rekindle their Super Bowl aspirations on the heels of an opening loss.

Tough duty.

The Indianapolis Colts open this season where they ended last year’s campaign, at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Last January, the Texans downed the Colts on their home field to complete their run from the worst team in football, two years running, to the playoffs. Now, the year after winning that playoff berth, which they parlayed into a victory over the Cleveland Browns before being routed by the Baltimore Ravens, C.J. Stroud and company will look to take another step forward beginning with today’s contest in Indianapolis.

There are more problems for the Texans today than a naked beekeeper faces on a hot day. Meteoric rises in the standings are often followed by a disappointing campaign before their talent and expectations can come back into alignment.

The Texans are talented and have a bright future, but they appear to be walking into a trap when they visit Lucas Oil Stadium today.

The Colts over the Texans are one of our four rated plays today.

As for the public, their three favorite plays of the week are predictably favorites. The most bet team by the public is the Miami Dolphins (-3½) over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The next most popular public plays are the Houston Texans (-3) over the Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills (-6½) over the Arizona Cardinals.

The money rated Qoxhi plays are now posted on this site, and if a Bullet Play develops in the final hour leading up to the first kickoff of the day, that game will be added to the recommendations by 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
